Acme Penetrometer

Standards: ASTM C403, AASHTO T197

Used to determine setting times of concrete mixes by measuring the penetration resistance. Suitable for lab and field testing, both are also ideal for testing prepared mortars and grouts.

A mortar sample, sieved from fresh mix, is placed in a container and stored at a specified temperature. It is tested at regular intervals with standard penetration needles. Resistance is plotted to determine initial (500psi) and final (4000psi) setting times.

Acme Penetrometer uses a load cell to measure loads. The load is read on a 200lb (890N) capacity gauge graduated in 1lb divisions. Penetrometer has dimensions of 10x13x31in (250x330x787mm), WxDxH and 9.5x7in (241x178mm) platform. Est.

Hand-Held Mortar Penetrometer is applied using a downward force to penetrate 1in (25mm) into a sample. Pressure is indicated on a scale located on the handle stem via a sliding ring indicator. Unit comes with convenient carrying case.
